FoodVentures is seeking a passionate Chief Agronomist to be part of the newly established Swedish team. In the greenhouse in Frövi high quality tomatoes will be grown in a state-of-the-art greenhouse. The company is looking for a hands-on person who loves pioneering with an international team.

FoodVentures is looking for a Chief Agronomist in Lindesberg (Frövi), starting in Q2 2024.
In this role the key job responsibilities are:
The Chief Agronomist is responsible for defining the overall growing strategy. The growing strategy must match the general business strategy of the company (which is set by the General Management) and achieve the set targets.
The Chief Agronomist will create a detailed climate strategy, harvest plan, integrated pest management strategy and labour plan. He/she is also responsible to oversee that the chosen strategies and plans are executed in a timely and up to standard manner. The Chief Agronomist's overall objective is to achieve the highest production, with the highest quality possible and optimize the use of inputs.
The Chief Agronomist is the link between the greenhouse team, the packing team, the technical team, and the administrative department. He reports to COO and interacts essentially with the Site Manager, Agronomist, Biological Team Leader, Head Technical and the Labour Manager.
Responsibilities
The main responsibility of the Chief Agronomist is the realisation of the production plan
. Budget reporting for operational resources (materials, energy and labour)
. Climate strategy and settings
. Irrigation strategy and fertilizer recipe
. Production and labour planning
. IPM strategy
. Enforcing the hygiene plan
Tasks
The main task of Chief Agronomist is to set and oversee the implementation of the chosen growing strategies while leading the greenhouse team.
. Set long term strategies on climate, irrigation, plant growth, plant health, production, and labour.
. Transfer long term strategies in short term goals for the growing team
. Analyse gathered data and change the strategy when needed
. Organize weekly meetings with the growing team
. Attend weekly meetings with the Site Manager Technical Team, the Packing Team, and the Administrative department
. Weekly reports for the management on climate, irrigation, plant growth, plant health, production, labour and technical performance of the greenhouse
. Instructing the Agronomist on daily tasks and necessary changes in the strategy
. Timely reporting to the purchase department when materials are needed
. Manages team workloads in order to meet goals and deadlines
Qualifications requirements
. Good understanding of biology, entomology, chemistry, and physics.
. Good team leading skills
. Data Driven Growing experience
. Solid overall experience in greenhouse industry.
. University educated, Bachelor's level in Agronomy, Agriculture or related field. Or equivalent expertise.
. Work experience 5-10 years
Preferred starting date: April 1st 2024
Location: This position is 100% on-site in Frövi
